Congrats on the new accordion. I looked up the price - better give the house TWO coats So what made you decide on that one, and were you doing any comparison shopping? Curious, since I know nothing about piano accordions.
Steve
I actually have been kicking around the idea
of buying a smaller PA for some time. It was
sort of an impulse purchase, I guess. (Maybe
three coats of paint are in order!)
No, I really didn't do any comparative shopping.
I know Baldoni's product, have purchased several
other accordions from them, and have a good rapport
with them, so I felt comfortable making the purchase.
Don't tell me that you could have bought direct from
Italy for 1/2 the price!?
It is a MusicMan Stingray 5. Don't know why I waited so long!
It replaces a Carvin LB75, which is a decent enough bass, but I out grew it. A friend summed up the Carvin stuff with the statement that they are not low end, but that they are at the low end of what is acceptable to a professional.
I may pass the Carvin down to my 12 year old daughter who is a pretty good bass player. She is definately going to stick with bass, and she might as well get going on a 5 string as soon as possible.
