Re: Dirty Linen

Just picked up that issue Saturday: (well deserved) good words for the Doc Marshalls too!

The previous issue has a very interesting article on Dennis Stroughmat, a guy who learned fiddle tunes from now-departed older players in the Upper-Midwest French communities, and went on to learn Louisiana French and Quebec music.

Dirty Linen is always an interesting read, even if it creates insatiable CD lust!

Re: Dirty Linen

Thanks for the head,s up Nick, I was wondering if that would appear sometime.

Hello Nick B.

Howdy Nick B,

And thanks for the heads-up!

An issue of Dirty Linen was waiting for me in
my mailbox when I had returned from the Augusta
Heritage session this past week.

Man, what a great time we had! 'twould have been
nice to see you burn "Les flammes d'enfer" on the
jam porch!

My better half, Liz, took Cajun cooking and discovered
that the kitchen is the *real* place to meet anyone
who's anyone on campus!

Funny thing, we had attended a festival in Madison WI
this past Sunday, and as luck would have it, Steve &
the Mamou Playboys were headlining.

So, where do you think I first saw Sam Broussard?

Why, in the kitchen of the Cajun food trailer of
course!

Great concert, 90+ degrees all day!

The MC kept referring to the band as
"Steve Mamou and the Playboys!"

Sheesh! No respect!
