Seems like a very tricky thing to identify an accordion from a recording, since room acoustics, the microphone used, and equalization are all going to affect the way an accordion sounds.

It is usually easy to pick Marc's accordions out, cause they have that really dry "tooty" tone, sort of the Stratocaster quack. I love that tone...

Octa used to play a Crown brand which I think was made by John E Hebert. That is most likely what he used to record too. Marc Savoy thought he used an F accordion on the older record by Arhoolie.
