Lawrence "Blackie" Fruge: (Pe)tit Mamou
Early 1950s. That's another name in contrast to Big Mamou. There was Little Mamou to the south. Not just Iota but further down to Evangeline and even Mermentau/Midland, from what Terry Clement told me.

Tan Benoit: Gueydan Waltz (Chère Bassette)
I think this was also recorded with Nathan Abshire's Pinegrove Boys in the early 1950s. Tan was how we shortened a lot of names that ended with the letters -ton-. Like Milton (milTAN), Alton (alTAN), Weston (wesTAN) etc. Don't know this fellow's actual first name.
